I couldn’t recommend ‘Train of Thoughts’ and ‘Frank the Fiery Frog’ highly enough. I have used ‘Train of Thoughts’ in a small group setting with a number of children with self esteem and negative self talk issues. Children loved using the book and workbook and it was very reassuring for them to be able to look back on the positive things they had written down. I used ‘Frank the Fiery Frog’ with children in our Nurture Room and the children could relate so well to Frank and using the workbook led to more positive behaviours for the children that used it. Every school needs to have these books!

We had the pleasure of having Eileen visit our classroom and read us her brand new book ‘Googoo the Glued on Gorilla’. The children were very excited to have this beautiful story read to them by the real life author. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story of little Googoo the gorilla as he began his journey of discovering his world “unstuck” from his Mammy. The children loved the illustrations and the subtle animal jokes made the book even more enjoyable for them to read. The children were able to ask questions and make connections to their own experiences. This book is heartwarming way to introduce the emotional struggles that children face when dealing with separation anxiety. It’s a thumbs up from all of us here in Presentation School Fermoy.

My favourite, favourite book is Googoo the Gorilla. I love how brave he got! And then he went off to see the world with his friends. I'm going to do the same when I'm big like Googoo.
